Aunt Martha's Hot Iron Transfers

There's a hand written note on the outside of this mailing envelope that simply says, "BIBS." These are so primitive and the paper so thin and fragile, I'm a bit suspicious they are from WWII. There is a precancel number on the envelope, Sec. 562, P.L.& R. and using Google to look that up I find there are collectors of precancel envelopes! Who knew!

The company is "Aunt Martha's Numo Hot Iron Transfers" and the pattern number is C8607. Some of the little critters were used so often, they have fallen apart--the dog and the monkey.
